Midnight In Paris - Coming June 3, 2011

Director - Woody Allen
Main Characters
Inez - Rachel McAdams
Gil - Owen Wilson
Muse - Marion Cotillard
Paul - Michael Sheen

There's not a lot I can say about the plot of this movie beyond what you see in the trailer. I'm not jumping out of my seat to go see this one, even in spite of my love for romantic comedies and Rachel McAdams. It just feels like its going to be one of those movies where you hear the story line, and see the cast and think, well this should be good, but still walk away disappointed, but not exactly sure why.........

Also appearing in the film are Kathy Bates and Adrien Brody.

Although Woody Allen is a very well known name in the industry, in looking through his list of Directing credits, I saw a whole lot of movies that I haven't seen, and a few that I had seen but didn't really like. Maybe he's just not my kind of director.

  1. Woody Allen is the closest thing we have to a latter day Charlie Chaplin.

He is sorely under appreciated by todays audiences more interested in over-the-top themes and action (be it drama or comedy).

  2. You should watch his early, funny ones. Annie Hall, Stardust Memories, Hannah and her Sisters and Husbands and Wives are my favorites. However most of his films since the nasty breakup with Mia Farrow have been terrible.

  4. Woody Allen is genius, I think one of the most wonderful things about movies is that we can venture away from the norm without being inconvenienced. This movie is already starting to get critical accolades. As I always used to say I wasn't an Allen fan I found that by devoting a couple hours here and there to watch Annie Hall, Mighty Aphrodite, and Small Time Crooks (my personal favorite) and many others. I was pleasantly surprised, I will definitely see this one!

It is hard to understand why a movie reviewer would not jump at the chance to view a new Woody Allen movie if for no other reason than to escape the mind-numbingly insipid spate of movies Hollywood produces, such as Transformers, Pirates, Green Lantern, etc. I agree that not all of Mr. Allen’s movies are gems. However, at their worst, they provide a brief respite from rise of The Idiocracy.

  8. I always look forward to a movie by Woody Allen! I have yet to be disappointed. There is value in each of his movies. I have my favorites- Vicky Christina Barcelona, Interiors, Annie Hall, Melinda and Melinda, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Sleeper- the list goes on and on! My two favorites are Play It Again, Sam and Love and Death. His movies cover the years from 1965 to now. Amazing.

  10. Getting rich is not the result of saving, or "thrift"; many
very penurious people are poor, while free spenders often get rich.
There are e - Book companies that will format your manuscript files into e - Book files and can
even provide a cover image. I didn't have much money to spend, and some friends had told me that you could get a free laptop by signing up with a new broadband provider, or new mobile phone provider.
